I need to vent...

Let me start by saying I hate forwarded emails...Like jokes or chain letters, or anything like that. Basically I feel if you didn't write the e-mail don't send it to me. I will even block people who continually forward this junk to me even after I have asked them not to. My mother (who I love) was blocked from sending me e-mail for 2 years. I only unblocked her because I was going to Europe.

But that is not why I need to vent...I received this chain letter from my friends girlfriend that was written by an ignorant bigot. It was basically calling for a boycott of a holiday stamp designed after the Muslim Eid (Which is a holiday marking the end of Ramadan). The e-mail starts off by saying something to the effect that Muslims don't believe in Christ so why should they have their own Christmas Stamp. It then goes on to blame Muslims for all of the Terrorist Attacks on American Interests since like forever.

It just gets me so angry that people spread this kind of hatred so freely. I was forwarded this e-mail along with 20 other people. How many of them forwarded it on to others and so on. If you guys want me to post the e-mail here I will...

That kind of thing really pisses me off too. It's generalizing on a massive scale. 1 to 2 BILLION people on this planet are not all fundamentalists or sympathetic to terrorism. How ignorant do you have to be to believe that?

what makes me laugh is the comparison of Christmas to Ramadan. This is like comparing apples and barstools. because of my job, I have taken Islamic culture and tradition and feel like I know more about Islam than these people do, and Ramadan is very serious to these people, not some fucking terrorism excuse. Granted some people do get out of hand during the end of Ramadan, but there's no need for all that... The majority celebrate Ramadan as their tradition calls for -- which is a very spiritual thing. Ramadan just ended like a month ago over here.

Also, I hate forwarded emails too (unless they're funny pictures then I appreciate). I love how serious it gets. "This email was started in 1897 and has never been broken. If you don't send this to 239573490573 people in the next 4 minutes, you will have eternal bad luck in love and life and health, your family will probably disown you and you will probably die before you turn 30."

Too bad there was no email in 1897 for the whole thing to have really started. Stupid.

Yeah, those things really get me, and it's usually the ignorant masses that forward them on and on and on. I stop that dead in it's tracks... it goes straight to the trash. People, (no offense) but especially white people of European decent really get me when they talk about some specific group that is terrible for whatever great tragedy they caused. I like to point out to these ignorant people that if we are going to dredge up a past of millenia, lets have a damn game about it. So I like to point out the atrocities and the millions and millions of people their ancestores wiped out in the name of religion, or whatever stupid reason they had.

The humbleness is that there are those that will cause violence and tragedy, they are not connected by race or religion. They are merely unstable people that take a perfectly normal thing and skew it way out of proportion. It's just too bad the masses are usually too dumb to think for themselves.

Peace can exist between two people, but it seems it cannot exist between two groups.

Those emails suck!! My mom sends them to me as well. I remember one that I got about Obama being Muslim and how he couldnt be a good president because of the Islamic faith and its statutes. Im afraid that my parents actually believe some of these chain emails and base their views of these individuals on these.

I love Snopes.com for most of those things - if it's a friend of mine that forwards it, I usually look that stuff up - most times it's crap in the first place...

i fucking hate chain emails, and stupid small minded people... i particulary hate anti-this and that emails. "sign this petition to end abortion" "sign this petition to make the government legalise such and such" seriously..?! and cautionary emails that are ment to inform me that hotmail is closing down and ill lose my accuont if its not forwarded on, or that $x will be donated to some sick kid if i forward it on to x amount of people... i could go on forever lol
