As some of you may already know I was in a bad car accident and broke my wrist and ankle, It was exactly 3 months ago... Initially i was told I may never be able to walk again (imagine how that'd feel on top the excrutiating pain you're in -> )
It is with great joy that -after 8days in the hospital, 2hours of surgery, 10s of xrays, and tons of physio- i can announce today as my official day I started walking again. Of course I still use crutches and cant's run or kick anyone but that'll come with time
I am extatic you have no idea how good this feels. For 3 whole months I yearned for this day to come. And while this is nothing compare to some injuries that take a lifetime to heal, it still was a good little lesson for me... never take the little things in life for granted, all the normal things ur surrounded with: your health, friends, family (no matter how annoying it may be), all the things ur privileged to do (aka: travelling ),... i can go on forever...u get the idea...
So go on and live life to the fullest, whatever that may be 'cuz if u don't, u'll go to hell (i need a devil smilie here) That's my personnal conrtract with god
Cheers to all exciting moments to come

That's freakin AWSOME!!!!

Isn't it funny how it takes something bad to make us realise just how good we've got it. I'm glad you've been able to put such a positive spin on all this, it shows a lot about your character. Good on ya

(ok, some time, but still... there's an end in sight)

Glad to hear it! Just think by next summer you could be running to catch a train in Amsterdam!

Congrats on being mobile again!

Here's a little inspiration: A friend of ours dreamed of being a fighter pilot for years. A couple of weeks after he graduated from the AF academy, he was in a terrible car wreck, mashed both his legs and totally crushed his ankle, and was told he'd never walk again, let alone fly. Well, he had to give up on his dream of being a pilot, but he ran the Iron Man in Hawaii last year in some ridiculous short time.

Motivation and determination trumps physical limitations every time.

Congratulations :congrats: !!!

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, right? Just don't stop taking those steps and you'll be in SE Asia in no time!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you. Really, I am. Albeit a little envious. I have to agree 100% with what you said about taking things for granted. You never imagine you won't be able to walk for some reason. At least I didn't. So people, when you're hiking and traveling or just walking to the bathroom to get something, remember what you have!!

I'm four weeks down, and 3-7 more before I can start putting weight on it again
