OMG! THAT IS THE BEST NEWS EVER.
It's more exciting than visiting "Ramsay Street" in Melbourne (for all you Neighbours fans)!!!

Oh good, another Neighbours fan! I am TOTALLY doing that trip when I get to Melbourne, I can't wait! (For anyone who is interested, I got to kiss Dr Karl Kennedy when he came to my uni summer ball!)

Anyway, Stephanie!

My boyfriend and I are currently contemplating a couple of Green Tortoise tours while we're on the West coast in September. The ones we're looking at are the"Coastal Cruiser" which goes from San Francisco to LA (and back again if you so desire), stopping at a couple of places along the way, and a camping trip to Yosemite National Park.

We're not 100% certain yet, but it's a definite maybe, you might want to check them out. They're very reasonably priced, in my opinion.

While I'm here, does anyone have any thoughts on these Green Tortoise trips?

The Green Tortoise trips are supposed to be awesome. They featured one in the San Fran edition of "GlobeTrekker," actually. Other than dealing with a handful of stinky hippies, they're supposed to be great. There's also a GT hostel in San Francisco that I've heard a lot of great things about lately.

Hmm, I think I can handle the stinky hippies, and hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Thing I like about the GT is that the trips include the cost of transport, accommodation (when you have camping nights/nights spent sleeping on the bus - which actually appear to be comfortable-ish) and most meals, so you don't have to worry too much about all that.

I'll check out the GT tour - hopefully there will be something that will fit into my schedule. Let me know how it goes when you go over in Sept.

Also, I am yet to do the proper Neighbours tour. I just spent about 10 minutes at the actual street taking photos (which is quite a long time considering the normal tourist would just drive into ramsay street then back out again without getting out). Let me know when you come to Melb and I'll fly down and bring a posse from Sydney and we'll run havoc in Ramsay St! The actual tour takes you to the studios which is around the corner and apparently at the end you go to the Espy in St Kilda and have a beer with some of the cast members (who join you on the tour).

I think the appeal of going to Florida is that it WILL be like home (I live in a beachy area). Visiting the suburb of Miami on the Gold Coast just doesnt cut it for me....

I read on the (oh-so-reliable) internet that Kokomo is actually in Indiana and that the Beach Boys just thought it sounded nice for the song.

MBO108 : As for Philly - what is there to do there? I don't know too much about it... I'd be in that area from November 16th - December 4th this year.

Thanks again guys!!!!
