Hi everyone,
My name is Beth and I just joined and since people are keen on introducing themselves, i thought i'd join in. I'm from Chicago and go to the University of Iowa. I traveled to europe over winter break with a friend, so maybe i can actually be useful to some people. But i'm taking a short 4 week course on aboriginies in australia this summer, but am also planning on doing a few weeks of travelling while i'm there. if anyone has any tips on what is or isnt cool for a single female travelling in australia to see and do, i'd love to hear!
thanks and looking forward to using this awsome looking site!
Beth

Welcome, Beth. We've got plenty of Aussie tpunks, so you'll find all the answers to all your questions, and probably a couple of people to meet up with along the way.

The course is a Murdoch University in Perth. weird coincidence, right? there are field trip that i'm assuming are going to be in the outback. other places i'm thinking about getting to are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane. and depending on time, going to the northern coast somewhere.
if there's anything i should know about in any of those places, feel free to chat me up!

Welcome to the boards!
Where did you go in Europe?
Your trip to Oz sounds great.

Welcome to the boards Beth, good to have yah!! From what i know about Chicago, Oz's winter will seem like a dream summer to you. I arrived in sydney in the dead of winter, and being from Canada i was very very happy to be there. It usually hovers around 22c during the day, gets around 10c at night. very pleasant to do all the sightseein, but a little chilly for the dips in the ocean!! I would recommend The Great Ocean Road in Victoria (amazing) and definitely Manly Beach in Sydney. Oz is by far the easiest place in the world to travel around, ull have a great time

I hope you didn't just say what i think you did! (there needs to be a "talk to the hand" smiley). No one goes around saying Lincoln Park is better and gets away with it. But i'm not sure what I can do via posting things on a website...
anyway, what suburb? obviously you're not there at the moment obvviously, because, who would want tospend all their time in the burbs? No offense to the people that enjoy it, but you're all crazy!
