HELLO TPUNKS!
I just found this site yesterday and as of right now i think it is the single greatest travel forum i have ever seen! Major kudos...
Anyway I am a 20 year old american male leaving for my first backpacking trip on sept 6 to BRAZIL! I will be there till christmas and I have no idea what I am doing. I am mostly sick of working in america and sick of all the crap with elections and whatnot.
Well If you have any ideas on where to go or what to do or if you are going to be in brazil during my stay let me know... I am also a nOOb at this whole backpacking experience so some advice is always appreciated!
--- your new bunkmate---

Welcome aboard JTP! Just curious, 4 months in Brazil? Or, are you going to hit other countries in that time?
Whatever the case, that should be a nice trip

Brazil is a great place to visit. I spent some time in Sao Paulo (Spelling?!) It was nice, but watch out. Don't put on flashy watches and rings in the city. Better play it safe then sorry. Other than that, most of the people are very nice. Make sure you buy your visitors visa before you leave out. I think it's like 65.00 dollars total.
Where are you flying into?
You will have fun there! The ladies are all smokin hot

My parents go to Brazil every year for at least two weeks and always see something new and different, I'm sure you'll have no trouble spending as much time in Brazil as you want without having to border jump. When your're there, buy Flip Flops called "Havanias" (the H is silent) they are basically the national footwear of Brazil (or so I've heard) they're amazing quality they never bust ( I have 8 pairs) and cost a pretty penny in North America and Europe (some people pay £20 here in England for them) where as in Brazil they are about 8 bucks Canadian which is even cheaper in US. You can even put these suckers in the washing machine... best footwear you'll ever buy.. I never take mine off..
Have a good one.

800 dollars is a good money to spend some time. You'll have 2400 reais (our money). I can help you to find cheap places to stay and eat in Brazil, specially in Fortaleza. But don't count with the job... Cause It's not that easy to find a job here. And they don't pay well. If it happens you'll be a luck guy! But don't give up coming... Maybe you should plan with care and see how long you can stay with the money you have. And about Jericoacora... If you wanna go there! I'll join you in this trip!
