Hey Everyone!
I'm new as you probably already figured out. I recently spent 12 months living in London which was fabulous. Sydney feels like a country town after London. I have come home with a nasty travel bug bite on my ass and can't wait to get back out there and see the world.
long story short I got myself a job a few weeks ago and now I plan on saving up so I can hit the road in 2010. Where will I go? What will I see? The opportunities are endless!
I'm going to get myself a round the world ticket, strap on a backpack and buy a great set of walking shoes. Anyone else on here with similar plans?

haha, well, i definitely know what you mean. i want a slightly more permanent lifestyle, thought definitely not as traditional as the work, buy a house, have kids type thing, so i know what you're feeling.
i've never thought of actually just doing the whole rtw thing... i'd be scared shitless, and always worrying about money, but i admire anyone who pulls it off.. seems awesome, for sure!
anyway, welcome to the boards!

I want the permanency eventually but I've got the itch to travel so badly that I don't think anything else is going to satisfy me until I've gotten it out of my system LOL

I get the feeling you're probably more interested in a pic of where the bite is located as opposed to the bite itself :P
How does one go about taking a photo of their own butt? LOL
April 2010. I AM WOMAN (with backpack) HEAR ME ROAR! Luckily for me I've got my UK tax return being processed and what I get back from that will pay for the flight back over there. LOL. I'm a cheeky one.

Ill be dammed if I know how, but the same bug that bit you on the butt made its way to the other side of the pond and got me too. One little trip to Spain and now I've got it for the rest of my life. We really should have practiced safe travel don't you think? Dude that's brilliant, tourism is like the travel condom, it keeps you from getting the bug Anyways I'm all aboard with RTW, probably not as soon as 2010 but you never know maybe we'll run in to each other. Te he he, we can compare bites.

Howdy!
My wife and I are planning on a big trip in two years. Nothing quite so big as a true RTW, but similar. Travel Condom indeed, for our honeymoon we went traveling for several weeks and we have been bitten ever since with the travelbug.

i love your title to this thread... it sparked my interest.
And yes, in 2010 summer I will try and end this job and go travelling for at least half a year or work somewhere dangerous/exotic.
