Smile Hey everyone!

Hi, I'm Julie and I'm getting ready to go on my first trip to...can you guess? London! I'm super excited and think it's going to be amazing but planning is getting a little tedious. Any tips would be helpful and much appreciated! I look forward to speaking to and getting feedback from everyone. Thanks!

Welcome!

My best tip would be don't plan too much. Do some research on top things you want to see, buy a guidebook, then don't be afraid to just let your whims guide you on your trip.

Hey thanks! Well, I don't really have too much planned for when I'm actually there..it's just the planning to get myself there that is starting to hurt my head! I know someone over there who I plan to meet up with at some point but other than that, I'll be on my own. I'm hoping to meet lots of people at the hostel I'm staying at..I hear it's pretty easy to do..any experience with that?

Welcome to TPunk!

You won't have any trouble meeting new friends overseas, especially in hostels.

Thanks! No, I haven't had trouble with my ticket..I got a decent deal I'd say on it..it's just making sure I have everything in order like making sure my phone works and which transportation card I should get and adapters and travel size stuff..ha it's just a lot for my head sometimes! Being on here has definitely helped though and I'm getting more excited to go!

Good Luck LondonLover! You're going to have a blast! If you're a history lover like me DO NOT miss the Tower of London. I know it's a major tourist destination and the lines for it can be pretty grim BUT it's well worth a visit.

Try not to stick just to the major tourist places because you'll end up holidaying with Australians and Kiwis and you can come here for that! I got myself a flat in one of the Northern Boroughs which was cheaper than the west where everyone else goes and even though the area itself wasn't exactly posh (or clean) I felt safe and I was happy and I loved the ethnic diversity of my area.

You end up developing a love for the grittiness of London. It's part of the charm
