New to the scene
Im a 25 year old university student studying archaeology and religion. Ill be leaving NA for the 1st time on a solo trek through SE Asia this summer for at least 4 months, maybe extending it till second semester next year ha ha. If anyone has any tips/advice on the area and/or backpacking in general it would be welcomed!!

Hi there, welcome to the boards, I'm rather unable to help you out with the SE Asia aspect of your trip, but I'm sure loads of other people will be able to help you!

Welcome!
Definately check out Laos. I found it to be the cheapest of all the SEA countries. So it's a good place to go if funds are looking a little tight. have a great time. Ask away if you have any specific q's.

Good luck with the planning. I've never been to SEA, but some of the other tpunks definitely have, so they'll be able to help you out. Sounds like an awesome trip though.

Do you want to go straight through or top along the way? If straight through, it's probably cheaper to fly (especially as you're departing from London) and ryanair most likely has flights...

budget's the only thing you'll really need to consider then as europe is substantially more expensive than asia. My cousin started off in europe and planned on traveling through to asia but never actually made it to asia, lol she ran out of money before she could get there and had to turn around. Just make sure you budget wisely and you'll be fine.
Depending on how much time you plan on spendin there you can either get a eurail pass or point to point tickets...
