Hell it has been a long time!
Hey there fellow nomads!
Sorry it has been such a long time since I have written! Australia was amazing! I stayed in Cairns for the four months, and thanks to APEC, us Americans can now get year long visas just like everyone else! So when my 4 month was up, I came home and reapplied. I got my ticket recently (a one way) over to Cairns and am going to try and look for a big girl job.
I leave Feb. 1 and am pretty excited about going back, since I have couped up in Michigan, I am so ready to continue chasing summer. Home everyone has been well!

I was wondering about you the other day, actually....thats pretty cool that you liked it enough to go back for another year
What type/subclass of visa did you apply for? I've been trying to get a perm resident visa but it is taking forrreeeeevvvver and I'm starting to get impatient! So maybe something more short term is the way to go.

You have to go in an order. Being an American, you first have to get the 462 Holiday Visa, if you are under 30, then the skilled migration visa (that way you will be sponsored by the state, but you have to be on their list of needed professions - not that you have to stay in that one - and stay in that state), after that, then it is easier to get a permanent visa. Plus there is such a shortage of skilled comepetant workers that you could very likely go over there and start working for someone and get a sponsorship very quickly.
Good luck!

Hey glad to see you back on the boards. Its been a while. Bummer about being stuck up north, but sweet that you fly back out on the 1st. BTW, I gave you my 1000th post as a present on your birthday . Hope it was a good one by the way.

Congrats, good to know someone is going through the process I plan on doing in a year or so... So I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for you!

Thanks for the 1000th post! Totally appreciated! The birthday was great, although getting older is never too much fun. I was such a bad aussie and didn't see any indiginous animals (besides some drunk aboriginals). Next time, I swear, I will fit into my stereotype.
