Default Lost Wallet in Berlin.

Fuck. Airport to Sbahn, get off. No Wallet.

90 Euros, Some Lits, my bankcard, my credit card, ID, student card.

Cancelling my Credit Card ASAP. All my shit is thru the Bank of Montreal. How can I get replacements? Looks like the Hostel is putting me up for now.

Shit man that sucks.

You can get a replacement credit card directly from the credit card company. You should be able to get one in a couple of days. Do not under any circumstances try and put it in an ATM. It'll eat it (Yes it happened to me) If you want to get cash off it you can take it to a bank and get a cash advance. Also your credit card company will Western Union you some cash off your card if you need it urgently.

I'd also call your bank and see what they have to offer. They should have an overseas support number.....found it (416) 286-9992

Anyway after all that rambling my point is: Call your credit card company first, get a replacement card and some cash. Then call the bank and see if they'll send you a replacement keycard, which I imagine would take longer than the CC.

Make sure you don't let it stop you from having a good time. Find some nice girls to buy you some drinks and remember it'll make for a great story down the track.

Man, that sucks.. good luck with everything. Definitely cancel those cards as soon as possible and try to get replacements sent to you. If you're planning on staying in Berlin for a while, have them sent to the hostel. If not, have them sent to the next hostel you're planning on staying at and make sure to call them ahead. Berlin's an awesome city, so try to have an awesome time (I know it's easier said than done).

I sympathize with you! My wallet was lost/stolen abroad also, fortunately I had emergency money in my moneybelt to keep me going for a few days.

My new cards were sent to the Canadian embassy of the next city I was heading to (Hanoi), since I had not book any room in advance. You may want to contact them and make arrangements.

Good luck!

Absolutely on both counts. I hope this doesn't come across like I am rubbing it in but was your wallet in your front or back pocket?

Trains that connect you to the airport are notoriously bad for pickpockets.

Alright, well I have got the people from the hostels to call the transit office many times today and nothing so far. My hope is that if a theif or pickpocket has it, they discard the wallet in a public place after using the 100€.

So my lil sister has wired me money via Western Union so I have cash for a few days, like 300€.

I am calling my credit card coy. right now and getting them to cancel and send me new shit, to the Canadian Embassy.

Also have to call my bank and make arrangements.

Thx for the advice and support. I am not reallz bummed, this stuff happens.

Choked about losing my non active student ID as it has saved me plenty along the way!!
PEACE

If this was going to happen in any place, it would be Germany. This is a country full of law abiding, nay...rule obsessed (your thief must have been improperly socialized), good samaritans. If the thief were to abandon your wallet, there would be a fight over who gets to turn it into the police! I wouldn't be surprised if there were a pickpocket dropbox!
