Hi All, i am travelling to austria, hungary and czech in april basically i want to know if it is wise to spend on a euro east pass which is 250$. i checked point to point tickets and they are quite expensive.
please help me regarding the same, and also i would like to know of any decent places in prague to live in.
I would say the rail pass would be your best bet. It just depends on how much traveling around each country you'll be doing and how long. For instance if you're just visiting the major cities, there could be flight options etc. Although the train is a great experience and for the most part takes you downtown-to-downtown.
I don't know much about eastern europe unfortunately so I can't help much more.

i found the euro rail to be very useful in western europe but not so much in the east. Austria can be a very expensive country and you can expect to pay a lot for point to point train tickets there, but in eastern europe ie. the czeck, Romania, slavakaia, poland and so on it is possible to get around very cheaply. the thing to do is get tickets to and from places that are closer together. a lot of places, like Romania actually will have a very slow train that stops over every ware called the "P" train and it will be very cheep. i found the best way to get from place to place in eastern europe though, was to take buses. they go all over the place and are fairly inexpensive.
