Hey, my boyfriend and I have decided that before we start roughing it completely on our round the world trip, we'd like to spend a week in Miami in a hotel, just chilling out really. We're still after somewhere pretty cheap though.
Can anyone recommend anywhere?
If not, has anyone stayed in a private room at a Miami hostel? I hear some of the hostels around South Beach can be pretty nice, so that's always an option too. But we really want to start off with a private room, so we can celebrate finishing uni, etc etc!
Cheers.

Though I can't vouch for either establishment, two I found were:
The Starlite Hotel - On Ocean Drive
Through Orbitz, I found a rate of $61 per night.
The Clay Hotel - In The Art Deco District
On their site, they list a rate of $54.25 for an economy room (shared bath), $63.30 for a standard, and $67.80 for a deluxe room. They also have hostel accomodations.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for those Matthew. I had seen about the Clay hostel somewhere, but not the hotel part. Also had seen the Starlite, which I thought looked pretty funky, and a really good rate. That would work out to probably less than £20 pppn, which is cool. I read mixed reviews about it, but for that price, I wouldn't complain!

For good last-minute hotel deals, I like to check out ratestogo.com. Their sister site, hotelclub.com, has more planned-out rates that arent' as discounted, but you can find some gems.
