Dunno what happens there, I slept in the same bed with girls in hostels and nobody ever said anything. However, all the beds in dorm rooms are singles, so you may have to go the private room option.

Sleeping wiht a parterner that you are traveling with is pretty normal. I have found that in dorms, one partner wil take the top bunk and one will take the bottom bunk. To bring someone back to a hostel that you have just met, is bad form. If your looking for any privacy what so ever, private room is your best bed, you will pay a little more, but it would be nice to not have some creepy person staring at you and your mate

You can sleep in the same bed, but you'll still have to book separately. And keep in mind that bonking tends to annoy your dorm mates unless you're pretty discreet about it.

Some hostels don't even let people past the front desk if they aren't booked in, so hooking up with someone and bringing them back to the hostel might not always work.
