I'm going to be in Ireland from approx 13 March to 21 March and need a good, inexpensive hostel in Dublin. The only problem is that it's St Paddy's day and anything decent is booked. I can find somewhere for 13-15 March and 18-21 March but having trouble with other days. I've looked at some of the nearby towns but they also seem to be full. Has anyone stayed in any of the outer villages, towns that they could recommend. I dont mind spending say 4 days in Dublin and the rest of the time somewhere else.

I would say you haven't a chance of getting any type of accomidation in any of the major citys in Ireland around paddys day... I never really thought of that myself..
Other options would be to cheak for B&Bs and couchsurfers, you could bring a tent, there's plenty of feilds around (not in Dublin obviously) the only problem being cows seem to be attracted to tents for some reason and farmers are grumpy bastards. Their bark is worse than their bite though.
