Hey guys, how are ya?
I was trying to look up diffirent types of hostels to stay at when I 'll be in Western Europe. Like castles, and old trains converted into hostels. I had some info on some before, but I cant find it. Does anyone know of any good links to help find these awesome places? Thanks in advance. |
P.S. sorry, but do you guys think they will cost much more than a normal hostel?
 |
I believe castles are generally pretty expensive - my friend looked into them for a trip to Scotland and wasn't too pleased with the prices... they're mostly run by large hotel groups, from what I understand.
I know in Amsterdam, there are a couple of hostels on boats that are anchored in the canals. I think joanofarc stayed in one of those. These do cost more than regular hostels, IIRC. There are a number of former monasterys that are now hostels. You can just do a google search for "monastery" and "hostel" and the countries you plan on visiting and I'm sure you'll find a match. The listings I've seen for these places tend to be cheaper, but I think it's because they're generally not "in town" but out a ways from city centres. |
