We're currently in London, about to get eurostar to paris and we haven't booked hostel in paris due to "communication breakdown" and need to kno what we should do basically. We still want a good location and not too expensive, but we need somewhere to stay for the time being. Can you get rooms at hostels the day you get there??etc...

HELP US PLEASE ASAP

english_rick, you can certainly just show up and ask for beds. I know it's busy season but people sometimes cancel. Me and my sister stayed at the Peace & Love in Paris back in Feb. I know you can find them on hostels.com. It was in a good location by 2 metro stops. You should also check out the recommended hostels discussion thread for other Paris hostels. Hope this helps!

You can try to book something online if you really want to. I like http://www.hostelz.com/ cause they have web pages for the hostels as well as user reviews and ratings (therer are also cheap hotel, pension and B&B listings here). In the worst case if you can't book online at least you'll have the phone numbers listed there, so you can call and see if there were any cancellations.

Best of luck!

You can book hostels at http://www.travelpunk.com too.

It's the busiest time of year, man. But I'm sure you'll find something. You may have to pound some pavement to do it though. Good luck!!

My usual recommendation:

BVJ Louvre takes bookings only by phone, and not online, so they may still have availability.

From outside of France: +33 015 300 9090
From within France: 015 300 9090

And yeah, they'll speak English if you ask nicely

Just stay at BVJ...there´s generally room there, and they don´t do online booking so they won´t be booked up. BVJ is like 25 euros a night.

Its on Jean Jaques Rosseau street like a 5 minute walk from the Louvre. Actually on the street is a hotel which i heard is even cheaper.

You should be fine.

best of luck

English Rick, where u headed next? if you are in Madrid, Los Amigos is a great hostel, and if its booked up, they let you stay in the common room for like, 10 euros i think. I met a couple of peeps who did that.
