Sorta-- at Paris CDG airport. We were catching a 6am flight to Amsterdam and we had to get there around 11pm. My mom slept and I stayed awake-- the great part was that I was able to sleep on BOTH plane rides and not suffer any jet lag when we got home.

Maybe I should say that I'm famous for being able to fall asleep pretty much anywhere. You can bet on it, and win. Even, when I was tired enough, in the grandstands at auto races when my dad was in his Crew Chief years. :sleepy:

You and Jacob would get along great. He can sleep anywhere as well - concerts, movies, driving... you know, the usual...

The only time I slept in the airport was when I was out with Jake's mom in New Orleans till 2 am and then we had to get up at four to get our shuttle and got to the airport around 4 30 and the flight left at 7 30 ish. Passed right out, even when Jake wasn't with me.

I've never heard anything bad about sleeping in airports. I talked to my doctor today and told her about the trip and everything and she used to backpack all time and said she'd slept in airports and train stations.

I slept in the Frankfurt airport with no problem. Its not really something I'd want to do again, but it saved me paying for a night at a near by hostel.

I've slept in many awkward places, the the New Orleans airport tops my list. See...they don't have benches, only stiff chairs with metal dividers. So we slept on the floor. There's nothing like waking up at 4 in the morning to the cleaning crew working around your body. We still slept like babies after missing the last flight that night. Who goes to N.O. to sleep anyway? It's almost as sacrilegious as sleeping in Vegas. :nono: :nono:

I have never actually slept over night at an airport...I would probably be too scared of getting my stuff ripped off or something.

There is a website though I think it is

www.sleepinginairports.com

There are all sorts of stories about people...you guessed it....sleeping in airports! :sleepy:

I wish I had pics of it but I actually hung my hammock on the second floor of the airport in Brasilia. There were some support beams that were about 10 feet high.

It was BOMB. and by that point of my trip I really didnt give a rip anymore about being robbed so I was feelin aight.
I've also slept in the denver airport on more than one occassion

haha, yep i'm the same. I had an 8 hr wait at Sydney airport once so i decided that sleep would be the best way to pass the time. I managed to sleep for 5 hrs in the chairs near the check in counters during the middle of the day.

I've got a couple of nights in airports (Heathrow, Bangkok) coming up, do airport staff ever kick you out for sleeping there???

the bombarding of brain-control waves coming from the secret CIA base under DIA explains so much 'bout you, Jake! :D

As for me sleeping, I've slept in BWI, Kansas City, Huntsville AL, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Orlando's airports for several hours at a time. Though it wasn't overnight, it wasn't so bad. Nobody bothered me.

BWI used to have benches, now they are divided seats and those are teh suck. But I hear thats how airports discourage folks staying overnight for free...

From what I understand this thing is a pretty normal occurance for travellers and the airlines alike. Just try not to sleep on the floor (Find a bench or across chairs) and try not to look like a homeless bum. :D This means keeping your baggage with you to show you actually plan on going somewhere! Don't leave your bags unattended at the airport!!!

I think mostly I'll be spending daytime at the airport, not nighttimes. :( Boo.
