Hi everyone!
I have been logging on to this site for quite a long time, but have never posted. I love this site and everyone's friendly, helpful advice.
Right now I am in desperate need of advice. I am currently on a job search and have to make a trip to New York City for a last minute job interview in two days. Can anyone recommend a hostel in the New York City area that is inexpensive and in a safer neighborhood. I don't mind paying a little more money if it means a safer area, or better hostel. Gotta support those wonderful hostels that are good to travelers the world over.
I looked up some hostels on this site; has anyone had any experience with The Wanderer's Inn on the Upper East Side? They seem to have low rates and are in what seems to be a good area.
Please let me know soon so I can book on-line before I go.
Thanks everyone!

WELCOME ladaz!

I hope I'm not too late My internet access is rather limited these days.
Not sure if you had already check out the hostel search engine, but here is a link to all of the New York hostels on the search engine.

Can verify any of them, first hand, sorry. Hope you choose a good one and you meet good people!

Oh, and good luck on your job search !

Hi,
Thanks so much for replying so quickly. I didn't end up needing a hostel after all because I found that a friend lives there now. Even better to crash with a friend! :D

Next time you are there stay at the Hotel Chelsea. I've never been but there is no hotel in the world with more culture (although The Riot House is a close call).
