OMG! I'm so dumb. The name of the hostel I'm looking at is "Peace & Love Hostel" on Rue La Fayette. This is the one I was referring too. Ha ha. I looked back at the website on the young 'n happy and was like "wtf? this isn't what I saw before..."
Too much planning, it's all gettin' jumbled in mah head.

Dammit, that blows.* Paris is my first real stop so I guess it can only go uphill from there!

Yeah Jenn, I'm thinking the same thing.
Hopefully the paris hostels make Los Amigos in Madrid seem like Paradiso! I'm trying to find other hostels right now that cheap, centrally located and have no cats, but im not having much luck for the end of june.

We'll just have to hook up with rich locals who own their own upscale and chic apartments. Yeah, that's it! MWHAHAHAA!

Yes...and the ultimate solution, once again, ends up being pimpin my ass out.
Maybe we should meet up in Paris and think of crazy schemes... heh heh heh

Just make sure CB shaves his legs - they don't really go for the 'au naturel' look in europe

Okay...all the good hostels in Paris seem booked up online. I guess the best bet are teh ones that don't take online bookings.
So perhaps, I will end up at BVJ...the one OMI stayed at.

Yeah, I'd recommend the BVJ Louvre just for the location and the no curfew/lockout thing. Keep in mind, though, that I did say it's not a party hostel, although the Bastille neighborhood isn't all too far away and is full of student-oriented bars, and in summer, it can be full of high school kids.
Some tips if you stay there:
There is no public kitchen. That means a lot of floor picnics/cold meals, but cheap, good food is so plentiful in Paris via the grocery stores (there's a G20 market around the corner) so it was little worry for me and my Aussie roomies who were on a VERY tight budget.
The breakfast at the kitchen is simple but good and plentiful. The staff will be SUPER nice to you if you greet them in the morning, so remember to do so - besides, it's a good habit anyway, no matter how hung over you are. Someone will come around to take away your tray - they are NOT trying to take your breakfast away, as some people have reported in reviews. Just let 'em take your tray
The push-button showers are plenty hot, but they suck since the water only seems to flow with 30 seconds for each push. Learn how to clean yourself up one-handed. (This seems to apply to a lot of Paris hostels.)
Don't let the seat-less toilets freak you out. At least they're not those freaky Turkish toilets you'll find in many bars there, where they serve as a urinal and squat at the same time. These are more of an extra-large basin with a rounded lip. Either learn to hover or bring some wet-wipes with you...
The stuff at the pâtisserie next door looks good but is crap. The Italian restaurant by it, although the prices are inviting, is crap, too. The bistro around the corner, however, is good, and if you get sick, the pharmacy around the corner has really awesome staff.

Thanks Omi, that'll come in handy.
When I emailed them, they told me that I'd only know what kind of room I'm getting when I get there....which is kind of unsettling, cuz i'd rather pay less, but whatever.
From the pictures, it looks like a hostel. Is it really huge?

It's pretty big by hostel standards, yeah... I forget how many floors, with many rooms on each floor.
