Thumbs down

I am leaving fro Scotland in 12 days and I was told that I should get a Hostel Card or something like that...is this a necessity? If so, what exactly is a Hostel Card for?

Thanks
~Ellen

A hostel card means you're headed for "Hostelling International." I would stay far far way from these people & hostels...unless they are your last resort. I felt they were geared more towards families then partying backpackers.

Look for privately owned hostels...you'll have a better time.
