I heard from a friend's mother that some colleges/universities will let students stay for free whiole you are traveling. Has anyone else heard of this? Do you know where I can get more info?
that's a good question. I know some dorms in Europe often function as hostels in the summer time but I don't know about the "staying for free" part. Maybe a good place to start looking would be sta travel or student universe, which are student-centric travel agencies. Also, Lonely Planet and sometimes Let's Go have the occasional university in their hostel listings.
