can you stay in a hostel if you're under 18? I'm 17 and it sounds like a blast! I'm planing a trip to cali next summer (I'm from FL) and hostels sound like the way to go! so even though I'll be 18 then, I'd like to stay in ones near here, just to meet people and see what it's like... anyhow, thanks in advance!
Emily most hostels in the states require you to hold a foreign passport, so that may be a problem but I dont think being 17 would stop you. Make sure and check that the hostel will let you stay without being from another country before you book. You will love the hostel scene, tons of people just like yourself out to have a good time and enjoy life to the fullest!
In Brazil I`m sure people under 18 can stay in a hostel. In USA...Well I really didn`t have the backpacker experience but my bf and I stayed some nights in small hotels while travelling and they didn`t ask my ID or something like that.
In Fort Lauderdale I stayed a few days in a student hostel with some friends. They didn`t ask my ID either. I think you won`t have problems
