i've tried to make reservations for 3 different hostels in 3 different countries, but i keep getting a 'no online availability' response. could they already be full for may? am i booking too far in advance? any other ways to make reservations? i really want to stay at these 3 specific hostels - help!

CG,
The search engine is fine...I just checked it.
Either the ones that you want are booked, or maybe they are not with the search engine anymore and haven't been taken down yet.

Which hostels in particular? Send me a PM with all three hostels and I'll check them for you.

June starts the busy season. Thats when everyone is outta school and starts their travels.
I would at the very least, book your first night in each city. Then roam around and try to find something else if you're not happy with the one that you booked.
Also, if you're heading into a city thats celebrating a holiday or famous event, prebook way in advanced or you'll regret it!

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!
