Accommodations near JFK?
Hey people...I'm flying into NY on the night of the 13th of Jan and have 18 hours before hopping another few planes to a different continent the next afternoon. I *was* just going to crash out on the floor of the airport but I realize that it might be worth shelling out for a room somewhere and trying to kick a little jetlag before I get a whole more of it thrown at me.
SO, any suggestions on a place to stay near John F. Kennedy that would be convenient and easy to get to with a few bags (nothing that I can't manage myself)? It doesn't have to be uber budget, but no 5-star hotels for me either.
Or if someone knows a friend who knows a friend who knows an aunt who has a niece who has an adopted cousin who has a spare couch somewhere, that would work too.
Gracias.

I was just reading this article in the Philly Inquirer last weekend about "shared bath" accommodations in NYC. Still pretty expensive, especially during the holiday season (although maybe some of that will be gone by the 13th) but worth taking a quick look at.

Also Hotels.com had the Days Inn and Super 8 for both around $110 on the 13th plus they are right there.

Italy was never really in doubt, Joey. So yes, it is happening. Hopping through 3 continents in 3 days, what? Yes, I'm crazy. But we knew that.
Thanks for the link, although I'm trying to avoid going into Manhattan - it's a solid hour +++ ride on the subway or bus. Days Inn it might be, I can do $110.

Yeah i agree, probably your best bet. Not worth the time or money to head into Manhattan. Good luck in your travels...
