Which hostels have you returned to?

To me the best recommendation for a hostel/hotel is repeat business. So which ones have earned multiple stays?

For me,

Funky Backpacker's - Granada, Spain
Wombat - Munich, Germany
Sakura House - Tokyo, Japan

These hostels didn't, I went back to the city but chose another accommodation:

i didn't go back to wombat's in munich but we did go on to stay at wombats in vienna because it was so good! I ended up having about three stays at the Albert in London during my trip but it closed down at Christmas

Triana Backpackers - Seville
Budget Backpackers - Edinburgh
Generator - London (kind of sucked the second time)

The first two are excellent. The one in Edinburgh was so nice I've recommended it to tons of people since then.

I didn't return anywhere because I've never "multi-travelled" (as in never hit up the same place twice, minus madrid but I was just passing through)

The only hostel I've returned to was the flying pig in Amsterdam, I wanted to try another one but was forced into the flying pig as they where the only ones with space. I'd return to the golden sickle in Prague not because it's a particularly good hostel, I just had a good time there. Out of all the hostels I've been to I'd rate the one's in Cesky Krumlov as the best. Hostel 99 had a great bar attached with great food and the other one had the coolest little bar ever down the back.

Banana Bungalow - Santa Barbara, CA (I think I've been there 3 times now. I dig that town.)
Coyote Cal's - Erindira, Baja Mexico (I stayed there 3 nights and I can not wait to go back. One of my favorite places ever, I think sudz would agree if he wasn't MIA.)

I haven't really passed through the same cities multiple times...the ones that I did were:
Bigfoot Hostel in Leon, Nicaragua
El Gato Negro in Antigua, Guatemala

I've stayed at Globetrotters in London a couple of times. Mostly because it was extremely cheap at the time.

My favorite's that I would return to are:
11th Hour in Budapest
Oporto Poet's Hostel in Oporto
Tutty Fruity in Krakow

I think they link is that these places all had friendly people, good facilities and awesome common areas.

Krakow - Nathan's Villa
Berlin - East Seven Hostel (well tried to anyway, they were booked solid!)
Lviv - Lviv Backpackers...wouldn't return there now though

I returned to these to take a shower when I was passing thru the city...

Munich - Wombat's
Budapest - Home Made Hostel (god bless these people I hadn't had a real shower for 4 or 5 days!)

Thanks Jake, Rox and I are going to head down to baja on our second week in Cali before starting work, and this may just be where we go. Problem though, we have dogs, and no one in Cali to watch them. May have to settle for a pet friendly hotel. But Coyote Cal's looks pretty damn cool.

oh my god i love East Seven! sooo good. fun memories there. I spent most of the night making out with a guy in the kitchen because there was this old chinese woman reading a book in the lounge ALL NIGHT! all we wanted was a couch! we kept seeing her the next day and she was giving us the evil eye. we named her Bookworm Bitch.
I would love to return to that place, but the receptionist (dear old Scarfy, he was so sweet) kinda forgot to charge us for our room and we kinda didn't say anything so I'm scared that if I go back they'll charge me . Oh and he also gave us ten euro because he thought we'd paid a key deposit. I feel pretty bad now.

Like Lost in Texas said it's excellent. The kitchen, the staff, the terrace, the hammocks and the good all around vibe was worth going back for.

Have only returned to one, and that was for convenience, rather than because it was fabulous. That was The Orbit in LA.

Would absolutely, 100% definitely return to the HI Point Loma, in San Diego. Man, that was THE most perfect hostel I ever stayed in.

I think most of these hostels have no idea what they're supposed to charge. I have to echo LostFarmBoy, the Loki in Cusco is really nice and I liked the Loki in Lima even better. But they could not get their billing straight, I know I forgot to pay for some stuff in Lima and they never asked about it in Cusco. And then in Cusco they undercharged me again, and I told them, but she re-figured the amount and was still too low. By then I was too tired to keep arguing in a language I can barely speak so I just let it go. Other guys in the hostel were complaining that they had all kinds of stuff from the bar on their bill they didn't buy.

Anyway, in the end I suspect a lot of hostels don't keep their books very well...as long as they have enough money for the bills each month they're probably content!

That reminds me of a great couple of days I had in New Zealand last year. First off, I got given $30 back for something that I'd never actually laid down a deposit for (can't remember what, I do feel a weensy bit bad now I think about it, but never mind, I was poor). Then in the next hostel, I was checking under the bed to make sure I hadn't left anything, and saw some cash shoved under the matress. Someone had stashed $80 under there, and obviously forgotten about it. RESULT!

man, finding money at any time is awesome, but finding money when you're backpacking is sooooo amazing. i was surprised at the amount of money we found on european streets (usually 5 euro notes), it happened to us a few times! no one ever drops their money in australia

^I had the reverse happen. In Japan I got 30000Yen in 1 10k and the rest 5k notes. Somehow I dropped the 10k while I was shoving the money in my money belt/pouch (trying to be discreet).

When I got back home, I found 80 USD (roughly 10k yen) in a Five Guys. It was like a Karmic connection hehe :D

I stayed at St Christophers in Berlin 3 times. Once for 5 nights and then a couple of times for just one night each when I was taking a cheap flight out of their.
