Some hostels will pick you up at the airport when you arrive in Oz.

This might seem like a silly question, but :-

Is it ususal to tell them your time of arrival days in advance (won't have exact time myself ?!)

- or just phone when your arrive in the airport ?

I think it will depend on that speciific hostels policy, send them a email to get the confirmation on how things are done. You do not wanna be forking out bus/cab fare if ya do not have to
