I don't think I'd be able to resist that. It might be a case of curiosity killed the cat, although they don't sell alcohol so I couldn't get myself in that much trouble.

Now it appears thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of Khartoum saying her sentence is too lenient and they are calling for her to be shot by firing squad!

There obviously something we are not being told about this whole thing....
I refuse to believe people are going to take to the street and demand the death of someone because of a teddy bear.
Unless teh Sudanese government itself is spinning this into another Prophet Muhammad cartoon thing

Sudanese president has stepped in and is giving her a pardon.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlates...122572,00.html
Quote:
The teacher, Gillian Gibbons, said she did not intend to offend anyone and had great respect for Islam. Sudanese officials said she would be released later Monday, the same day two Muslim British politicians met with President Omar al-Bashir to seek the pardon. ``The president has told us he has already signed the papers for her pardon,'' Lord Nazir Ahmed, who met al-Bashir along with Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, a fellow representative from Britain's House of Lords, told reporters afterward.

Finally some common sense. I'd be on the first plane out of the country if I was her just in case they change there mind again and increase her sentence.
