Just wondering for the folks that have been around europe. Are there any chain gyms that are found in most major cities. A la Gold's Gym or Bally's in the U.S.? I'd like to keep my workout regime going while on my overseas adventure. I realise I can't keep it up entirely but I'd like to not turn into white urkel (is that how you spell that?). Are people gonna look at me crazy for running around a city? I've heard it's less common to run through a city on that side of the atlantic.

but i was looking for ways to keep fit without going to the gym, like jogging or working with a piece of theraband. I was injurd and couldn't walk/go to gym for 3months and counting. My physio therapist showed me a heap of exercises with theraband and i'm sure if u can walk then there is alot more alternative ways to stay fit. U could even incorporate a fair bit of trekking/hiking into ur Euro adventures (U like hiking right?! I'm only agianst joining a gym while backpacking becuz of the added cost, If u have the budget go for it.

I`ve gone running in the city in various places in Europe; no big deal.

I know there are a few Gold`s Gyms in Europe.

Just checked: Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, and the UK.

Do you want to run in the Gyms? Or to lift and stuff like that? I've heard (from others on this site :) thank you) that it's pretty normal to run around in many European cities. Who knows, maybe you'd find some sweet athletes out on the roads!
