SE ASIA, what is the best place to do an HIV test?
As an expat, what is the best place to do an HIV test? My next stop is Hanoi, Vietnam. Has anyone had experience with these tests in Southeast Asia? Is it doable? |
:blink2: Well, I'd guess the doctor's office? Or the hospital? Good luck.

Like SpaceVirgin said, but more specifically, if I were you, I'd call your ambassy to ask for a "recommendable hospital or clinic". They'll forward you to places working with norms from the western half of the world. You don't have to specifiy what it is for.
|
Sometimes the Embassies have their own doctor on staff, although that's more for staff. But certainly they'll be able to direct you to an English speaking (if you need that), "western" style doctor. :tumbleweed:
|
I agree, you may be more cumfortable with a doctor that speeks english, and works in a way that is more acceptible to you. You don't want to end up going to some kind of "witch doctor", or something.

scarey times, hope it all works out ok.

I second LFB!
|
Hope it works out man. Good luck.

Another option is calling your insurence carrier, they will have a list of recommended health care facilities. I would be a discreet as possible when telling them what you want it for. Frankly, I would not tell them what it was for at all UNLESS your going to make a claim.
Good luck my friend! |
There is an excellent hospital in Bangkok called Bumrungrad. It's top notch, as good as anything in the west. The docs speak good english and the prices are reasonably cheap (compared to the States anyway) for most services. Here is a link to their website:Bumrungrad
Good luck! |
