Hey guys,
I am going to Canada in a weeks time, and Im wondering whether I need to get a money belt or bum bag, and whether I need to buy cable locks etc for my luggage? I know that when you go to India or other third world countries they are a necessity, but are there jacket-slashers and pickpockets in Canada too? Being from Australia, we dont have any trouble with that sort of thing, so Im just not sure..............HELP!

You're gonna be pretty safe in Canada. A money belt or cable locks won't really be needed.

I think you'll be fine without a money belt or cable, but just like any travelling don't live any luggage unattended. I'm sure you know that already

Being a Canadian and havin' travelled from one end to the other, I've never had the need for a money belt. But like the others have said, just keep an eye on your bags especially in the more urban areas. I've travelled alot and have never had an issue on the buses or the towns, of even the big cities.

Have fun! This is a great place!!

Jenn

P.S. Of course I am just ALITTLE biased!
