Here is a question for backpackers:

Do any of you work-out when preparing for your trips? If you do, what do you do?

I am wondering because backpacking can be a real tiring and physical activity.

walk a lot, i just kinda sold my car and bicycled around for the few weeks before i left.

for this next trip i am training by riding this beast for 10 some odd miles a day
it only weighs 900 pounds

but yeah walking more works, if you want i suppose you could wear a day pack full of books while you walk

Is that your job?

you should ride that bike around the world like this guy did. if you could scroll ads you’d have an easier time finding sponsors than he did.

I do no exercise and I am fine. I find that I lose weight while on the road because of smaller, less-frequent meals and lots of walking.

I walk like crazy, but then again that is me. I rather walk than catch the bus/trolly/whatever cause the Public ground transportation in Florida sucks!

But I normally just skate although nowdays I can't cause I lost them yet I still do Power Yoga and I'm going back into insane swimming.

Eating healthy also helps and eating less also that way you can adapt your tummy and you won't need so much food when travellin'.

And yeah that Bike C0urt rides is a bitch although it's fun when you blast the music (he hates my music thou, hater!)

Yeah just do what you think is best and remember you don't just have to be fit for travelling it should be a concern regardless.

I just work out or ride a bike everyday regardless of whether I have a trip coming or not. It's getting back on the workout horse *after* a vacation that I get all out of shape.
