Well, i'm up to the buying travel insurance part of my travel preperations. I've looked at a couple of different places but they all say that they will not cover me for running with bulls, but running with bulls is the most likely time that i will need travel insurance!!! So, does anyone know if there is some mystical travel insurance place that will cover me for running with bulls without charging me an absolute fortune?? Or am i dreaming??

Cheers

I'm not surprized that they are hesitant to insure you - there are a lot of people injured in the running of the bulls. The contest between an 900lb angry bull with big horns and an average human being seems very one-sided to me.

I usually do not advise being dishonest, but did you try not telling them about it. As in "I'll be in Spin from (insert dates here) and I still don't know what I'm going to be doing".

Yes I have to agree. Just pretend you don't know exactly where you are going, they likely won't pry. The more ya tell them, the more reasons they have no to give you it.

I think you can pay an extra premium for it, in my booklet I got for my travel insurance it says "you may be able to cover yourself for an activity that is not listed by contacting Direct Travel Insurance. An extra premium may need to be paid."

Thats with direct travel, a british company. Im sure you would be able to buy some. But just do as GoKrazy says, just dont tell them, and take somebody who runs slower than you to the running with the bulls.

It would be one thing to tell them you are not going to do it. But if you get injured during the event you are gonna have to tell them something right?

"Err, some stranger was running past me with an antique horn, and well he tripped and I got in his way and the horn got lodged a fair way up my backside. One in a million shot, doc."

See, the problem is that it is in their contract that they don't cover you for running with bulls, so it doesn't matter if i tell them or not, they simply wont cover me for it. I think i'll just have to go with your idea STS and i'll brush up on my stranger with the antique horn story just in case.

So, who's up for being my running partner for the running of the bulls

This does not surprize me... Like I said - the contest between an angry bull vs. an average human seems very one-sided to me. It's asking to get hurt. Not to mention that I still have the "Pilot Guides" eposode in my mind, where the girl traveler goes for the running of the bulls and backs out last minute after deciding that the running mob is a far greater threat then the bulls themselves.
