Ok. I've done 15 hours on a plane and that wasn't too painful. Maybe I was too excited back then. Since then, I've been on 5-hour flights that made me want to go berserk, so this flight to Vietnam has got me feeling super antsy...
Tomorrow, I will buy an mp3 player. Any other suggestions to keep from going nutty for the duration of the flight?!?

Being on a flight is like waiting in line at the bank.. they both suck and there is nothing to do... However, on a flight you can sleep.. Knowing this, I always take a sleeping pill as I'm arriving to the airport (on flights over 10 hours of course) and by the time they are loading my flight I'm already trying to fight myself to stay awake..
This solves many issues pertaining to long flights.. 1st and foremost, the issue of keeping yourself occupied. 2nd keeping comfy on the dentist chairs also knows as seats, and 3rd you don't have to keep looking at your watch and saying 'ok only 14 hours left' ...
In closing, you need to kick it ghetto fab and sleep on that mo fo.... WORD!

butt clenching! Whenever I have to take a long drive, and my butt starts going numb, just start like flexing and unflexing your muscles there, and in your upper thighs. Kinda like kegels.
No one can tell youre doing it unless they were watching you like a hawk...and starting at your lower torso...

yea, sleeping pills, my mom goes to china(from boston) 4 times a year for work which is 21 hours(total) and she takes sleeping pills
check to see if there's personal tv's in the seats on your plane. are you bringing a laptop? bring thousands of movies if you are.

You can get various medicines that say "PM" in them that theoretically help you sleep, but for me, nothing works better than either a motion sickness pill (like Dramamine) or Benadryl.

A hit of acid lasts, what, 12 hours? Take 2 and call a shrink in the morning.
Ok, ok, that's probably a VERY BAD idea. Find a real page-turner of a book. I find that flying is the only time I get any quality reading done nowadays

I think they key is to break up the flight. Read for awhile. Watch a movie. Sleep. eat. Listen to some music. Read some more...etc. They will probably show 4 or 5 movies. You can check on-line at the airline's website to see what ones will be playing. I also bought one of those inflatable horseshoe shaped neck pillows and love it...even though it looks ridiculous. I sleep much better on long flights. Also...try buying a noise dampening set of headphones for your MP3...check out this company Plane Quiet Headphones Bose makes some too...but they are ALOT more money. I have an older version of the Plane Quiet and they work well. Enjoy Vietnam....should be a great trip....just watch out for the chicken...lol.

I believe Sony makes a pair of noise-cancelling headphones at an even cheaper price - $48.

who needs pills? I can sleep anytime, any place, anywhere. just give me a little music and I can be out in a flash. (this of course does not happen all times that I listen to music, just when i choose to sleep) What can I say? It's a gift....only problem is that I can also be a pretty deep sleeper @ times so I might be a little hard to WAKE UP hehe.....

That is the best Idea ever... Please tell me you where over the age of 16 because that would make even better.

Ahhhh hahahahaha... classic.
In regard to your buttocks, you could try butt clenches or sleeping on your side to take the pressure off your ass.

hahahahahaha, that made me lauph too. once I had 2 rows on an American flight to myself, 6 hours, so I made a club house. Not as cool as a fort, but close. haha. I had all my stuff spread out everywhere, and I made a bed across the seats and i had stuff everywhere...when we were landing all the flight attendants were yelling at me to clean it up and when we landed i was crawling on the ground trying to find my cd player that feel through the seats, haha.
Now that I think of it...I do this everytime. haha
