What's up TPunks! Long time no write. My only excuse is that life's a bitch. Go figure.

Anyway, so I'm heading to Mexico for a couple weeks in early March (hopefully can still avoid the spring breakers) and am looking for some advice.

We have found a few places on the pacific coast (San Blas, Sayulita), but flying into Puerta Vallarta rather than Cancun costs me an additional $200 on the ticket.

I'm looking to do some beach relaxing, but don't want anything to do with resorts.

So the question is: What can I get to within 1 day from Cancun?

Anyone.....

Bueler......

Chichen Itza is the most obvious thing, it's very close to Cancun.

Yeah dude, Tulum is a post card coast scene. It's awesome for resort free beach relaxing.

Playa del Carmen is about an hour south from Cancun, and the beaches are sweet. and it's on the way to Tullum (which is also AMAZING and there is a small beach at tullum as well). You could also go to Xel-Ha or Xceret which are just south from Tullum, and they are gorgeous, with underwater caves and lagoons to snorkel around in, but they do charge an entrance fee for these 2 places. Hope this helps, and have a great time!!!
