I'm currently planning a trip to Europe that I'll take as soon as I can actually afford it. I plan on flying into Spain and from there going to France, The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy and Greece. The easiest route that will prevent any backtracking, would also take me through Belgium and Austria. I've driven through Austria once, on my way from Italy to Germany but are there any good clubs or interesting sites in Austria or in Belgium?

I didn't make it there, but I hear Bruge is cool in Belgium. If you're into history, you can go to the battlefield of Waterloo as a day trip from Brussels (which also has about a day's worth of sights to see).
I think Austria is known for its Alpine scenery, and Vienna, of course...

Yea Austria has some amazing scenery, and I adore the local pubs...but they feel very local (if you like that sort of thing). I loved stopping everytime I drove through.

If you like beer then Belgium is the place to be!
I'll be spending an entire month there because of the beer.

I loved Austria, Salzburg & Vienna were awsome. I ended up staying in Salzburg for a week, then Vienna for 3 days. Vienna is more of a large city then anything else, but lots of cool sites!

I loved Bruges. I feel its a must see. I can't, for the life of me, remember the name of the hostel I stayed at, but there was a bar/resteraunt downstairs which gave you a complementary beer with every meal. That's where I fell in love with Hoegaarden. They have some great brewery tours which take you to a handful of the numerous local breweries.
I skipped over Austria on my last trip. I was going to hit Saltzburg which is supposed to be another must see. I went to Cesky Krumlov in the neighbouring Czech Republic instead (my favorite town from my last trip). Austria is supposed to be quite expensive, so prepare your wallet.

Only visited Innsbruck for 1 day and i'd say that was not near enough time for how much fun it was. A good Bar/Club is called something like The Couch I think. And there are plenty of young locals there as there is a university. I'd say to def book some time for it.

Belgium has some of the best beer in the world. At least stop for a couple of days. We get Hoegaarden (spelling?) here in the USA and its pretty damn good, and its import. I am going to Belgium for a couple days this summer and I cannot wait to try it out!

I cannot drinik the imported Hoegaarden here after drinking it in Belgium. Its just not the same. When I got back and found that you could get it here I was all excited.. then I tasted it. It made me sad like a clown.
