I wear mine almost everyday at home. Drives my folks nuts. It's breezy and elegant.

I use mine as a towel, pillow, kilt (cause it would be unmanly to say dress) and well if you've read hitchhikers guide you know how essential it is to always have your towel or in my case, sarong.

Let me kick Jake aside and say as a girl, there were way too many uses. First off, I loved it as a skirt (I've been wearing them for so long) and they'd also double as a dress. They can make and uber revealing shirt, but great over a swimsuit. Also doubles as something to lay on, blanket, or wrap.

table cloth if you are eating at a really scabby table, picnic rug, extra bedsheet, light blanket, baby carrying sling, flag if you are either trying to start your own country or attract attention from planes, parachute if you accidently fall out of a plane, sail if you decide to build a boat or raft, cape if you become a superhero.... really a sarong will help you out of any obscure unlikely situation

Soooo amazing... soooo light and easy to pack... use for a skirt (dressed up or down) as a table cloth, I once even used it to make some shade.... (then again I always also have string...)

bring one!!!

While travelling, I decided to ditch my towel (ok. ok, I forgot it somewhere) and used my sarong. They're good as skirts, dresses, great for the beach... etc etc etc

So...where might one find ways to tie these nifty little suckers into glorious skirts and dresses? I always end up with a big ugly knot...

The Sarong is king! It is great for the beach, as a sheet (when the hostel one provided doesn't look good!) and a towel too.

They can be a tradeable item When I was in Morocco a native berber loved the colours of mine and traded me some jewellery he made for it! He was going to give it to his mother as a gift.

Skirt, dress, shawl (throw over your tank top to get into a church, or if it's cold at night), sheet, beach blanket, table cloth, baby sling (i've got 4 - kids, and sarongs!), baby changing sheet, sun shade, umbrella, tie it to a stick so you know where your stuff is on the beach when you come back from a swim, wrap to carry your clothes to - and from - the laundromat, great for privacy when nursing a baby, and then you just wrap the kid up in it for a blanket. Used one as a flag for a pirate ship last summer...

Indispensible.
