Default Booking Pamplona hostel for Running of the Bulls 08

How far in advance can I book? Or should I book? I tried checking hostels here on the site and it says none are available.

Thanks,
Matt

For that time of year, you should always book in advance. Have you tried hostelworld.com or hostelz.com? There are a shitload of Tpunks who have been to the running, and will be along shortly to give you even more advice. Good luck!

Those sites arent brining up anything either. I found one in San Sebastian but it is 42.99 a night. I am prolly just looking to far in advance. Maybe in a month or 2 dates will be available for next year.

Dont book a hostel (if there even are any....it's a reeeeeaaally small town) for 2 reasons.

1) it's going to be ridiculously expensive at that time of year if you can actually find a place (I know a lot of people will rent out a small room in there house or something to tourists and just cram people in for ridiculous amounts of money)

2) everyone sleeps in the parks....just join them! It's so much fun....the first night. Just dont plan on staying too long. It can get diiiiiirty and cold....bring a sweater & long pants. Leave your expensive stuff at town hall (in the centre of town) where they have a "locker-type" system....I think it's like 3 euros everytime you go into it or something like that

Good luck! The run is defiitely a once in a lifetime type of experience!

When you arrive there, if you ask around there are places for rent. Many locals rent their flats out during this time (and make a ton of money). There are always rooms available...

My advice: DO NOT SLEEP IN THE PARK. It's cold as hell (under 10 degrees Celcius in the morning), and not as many people as you think sleep in the park... at least in 2007. I got a cold and bronchitus from sleeping in the park...

Of course the second night me and buddy from jersey ended up meeting these two girls who were kind enough to let us sleep in their car... which was pretty fun, to be honest. But the first and third nights sleeping in the park were just brutal!!!

Yes... they will rip you off for accomodations.

But in my opinion, it's totally worth it... in the morning when I woke up at 5am by the cold (it's like the air taps you on the shoulder and says "wake up! it's so damn cold!!") I would have paid anything for a room...

We were there this year, and Bacon is right, hardly anybody was really sleeping in the parks. If you do sleep in a park, sleep in the little grassy patch in front of the train station. We walked past it and went up to the city to party and then crash, the next day we were kicking ourselves in the ass for not sleeping there. The people partying out there will keep you up, one way or another.
