Surfing
Not sure if this is where I would post this, but I got the chance to try surfing in Hawaii a little while ago and now I am hooked. Unfortunately for me, I was the only one who got the hang of it out of my friends, so I only got two days of surfing. I got back about two weeks ago and all I want to do is go surfing. I am jonesin for some surfing

Nice! Where were you? My boyfriend is from Kaimuki/Honolulu on Oahu, and I was able to visit with him last summer, where I tried surfing for the second time. We hit up Sandy's break, which is more for body boarding and Makapu'u. They were both awesome, but it'll be a lot of practice till I'm good!

I know Dallas blows. I first went to White Plains and then Waikiki. White plains was much better, less crowded and better waves. I have thought about getting down to Port Aransas near Corpus Chrisite, but the waves won't be the same. Maybe its time to pack my bags and move to an Island?

I've been learning here in the Gong for the past 9 months.. not too bad but I'm still wary of big waves... but small ones are still fun for me.

I hear ya...I learned to surf in Costa Rica three years ago and haven't done it since (a little difficult where Im from) .. it is loads of fun even if I suck at it. I could spend hours in the ocean playing on the waves..
Though one must always be cautious of stray boards from other inexperienced surfers..I totally got nailed in the face

Ha, me too, 3 years ago in Tamarindo. Great long 3' waves for n00bs.
I don't think I'd surf in the Gulf, though. The filth and sharks aren't worth the crappy waves, lol.

Congrats on the sudden inspiration dudeman. You could take it so many ways. If you follow the Beach Boys advice you'd move to Cali. If you want to live in a US island either go for The Big Island Or Maui. I wrote some stuff about Haleiwa Hawaii Beach, one of the best white sanders in the world, and Malibu here under Tourism of the natural wonders:
gullivearth.com/en/guide/tourism_10/2192/united-states
Also if you want some real inspiration do what they did in Endless Summer 1 and 2. If you like classic 60's stuff check out the first one, if you want something more modern check out Endless Summer 2. They are both amazing and will get you psyched out of your mind.
Surfer magazine also recently posted an article about the top 10 surf towns of the US. You should look it up.
