Hey, does anybody know if it would be possible for me to obtain one of those International Student ID Cards? I am not currently taking classes, though I do take a language class at the local university now and then...

I think if you enrolled in one for-credit class (even if it's total BS and you never show up, lol) at a local community or junior college you can qualify. But it has to be a credited class or you don't get a school ID card-- that is your ticket to the ISIC.

Check about age limits though, my husband can't get all the student cards, even though he was enrolled in two different Vilnius U. programmes, because he's over the magic 26.

Just picked one up today at a local U's study abroad office. Rather painless process. They asked where i went to school, and for my current driver's license, but otherwise, that was it.

For you, Mike, i asked the girl behind the desk. She said it was easy enough, provided that you were registered for classes at a local school that were for credit. Hopefully that helps!
