Default Is 2 weeks enough?

I can take off 2 or 3 (at the most) weeks from work, but is that enough to effectively backpack? If I'm only doing 2 or 3 weeks, what is the approximate cost that I'm looking at?

Thanks!

It all depends and where you're going and what you want to see... And of course where you're from if you need to factor in flights etc.

If time wasn't an issue, most people would take year-long vacations. Since most of us don't have that luxury, you take what you can get. I say make the best of your two weeks and have a great time. Just don't try to see everything at once the first time, and keep in mind you can come back again.

2-3 weeks is definitely enough time for an amazing experience. My first solo backpacking trip was 2 weeks, and it rocked. I wouldn't try to go to too many places though - I only covered the state of Sabah in Borneo, and it wasn't long enough! Costs, as mentioned, obviously depends where you're going and what you want to see.

Any amount of time always seems too short.

Two weeks is fine htough and you really can get plenty done in that time no matter where your heading.
