Ok, I´ve done some research for this but I would like to know if I have to take everything I declare out of my bag or do they only ask to see the items if they are suspicious? Right now I have my souvenirs all over the place in my bag cause they fit better, so it would be a hassle to pull them all out at the airport.
If anyone can let me know about this I would be very grateful!

Oh ya...also, I´m only allowed to bring one bottle of alcohol back duty free...if I bring additional bottles back does anyone know how much I would have to pay? Is it just a percentage of what I paid for them or something?

Thank you!

I'm so sorry no one answered this!!! We've all been so busy this summer! I know, no excuse.

The times I've gone through customs: they've never really rummaged through my stuff. I've never claimed anything (not even extra alcohol) and everything was fine. I never organized very well either. I figured if it were that big of a deal to them, they'd do it. As far as what you pay - I believe it operates like a tax. If you check out your embassy website or something, it should give information!

It shouldn't normally be a problem, unless you are bringing back something particularly strange, or of course, illegal. If they do ask you to open your bag, there's usually a good sized table handy for just that purpose: you plunk your bag down on the table, open it up and let them poke around. They're probably not going to ask to see the snow globe you're bringing back for Auntie Polly, they generally just want to make sure you're not bringing in contraband.
