This probobly doesn't go here, but whatever. On Thursday at 10 on MTV True Life: Backpacking in Europe is on. Just a heads up, haha we'll see just how true it is. I like most of the other shows though, so...we'll see!

Hey cool. I got an interview call from them last spring about being on this, but then they never called back. I imagine having MTV follow you around would seriously disrupt your trip, so Im curious to see how it turned out.

You'd think so.

Imagine the shit you wouldn't be likely to do if you had a camera crew following you around. how invasive.

Or rather, the crazy shit the directors would put you up to, even though it's something you'd never do...

I'd imagine it would feel pretty hokey while actually traveling. However, when you think about it, anything that introduces the idea of backpacking and travel to today's MTV culture is probably a good thing.

Hmmm...I'm probably speaking to SOME of today's MTV culture right now...

omg...haha, I just saw a commercial for this and it showed these two guys streaking on a country road in the mountains with a group of tourists behind them. Now, I've done some crazy stuff while traveling, but that's just really obnoxious....

I just saw the show and I have to say

It sucked. There was no culture, nothing really to do with traveling. Just the 2 guys and 2 girls. The guys were ok ,besides the tool jumping into the river in Spain and got real sick, tard. It was more like a soap, and nothing really about true backpacking. It was like watching a train wreck, then watching it explode, then catching fire to the trees around the train wreck and burning down the whole city... yes, it was that bad.... BOO!

Yea, those people were way too stressed out, I really hated them, haha. I didn't like any of them at all. The whole thing really was just trying to figure out which train to take. It was really dumb. They didn't do anything. The two girls begged for money after spending only 28 Euros because they thought they were going to run out of money(MTV's idea?), and the guys annoyed me. As did the girls. haha, that entire show I was just thinking "wow....this is complete bullshit..." Anyways, what could you expect, it's MTV.

did anyone really expect anything that MTV touched to actually be half way decent? Not to step on any toes but MTV and most of so called "reality television" is recycled crap aimed at mindless drones. (again not trying to insult anyone who might be a fan but for the most part if you think about it i am right.) Go Yanks!

I saw the show yesterday, and while ive never backpacked through europe I have dont my fair share of traveling. I think it SUCKED!

Idea: Maybe everyone on the site should compile (if possible) video footage of their trips and make a TravelPUNK backpack show! Make some money for more travels? Just an idea!

I'd buy a Travelpunk vid. I'd pay double if there's a fair share of embarassing moments.

I Tivo'd it and although it was obviously MTV tripe at its core, it was still cool. I went to every place they showed so it was nice to see it all again. Some parts were funny, like the guy who freaked out after running with the bulls or how bitchy and whorish those girls were.
