Hey all,
I another one of the newbies trying to hack my way through my first trip to Europe. I know you get these all the time (i looked at many of them lol) but how does this sound.

arive in Germany(Berlin, Munich) ----> Czech Republic (prague)----> Austria (vienna)--->Switzerland (Zurich)----->Belgium(Brussels or Antwerp)----> Netherlands(amsterdam)--->Germany

I have between 20-25 days of time. From what i've seen, people reccomend 3 days per major city. Which of these cities should get 3 days or 4 or 1 or none?
Here are some more factors:

-I will be there soon (January 4th!!!)
-it will be winter and i've been told everything closes in winther (cold doesnt scare me)
-I don't speak any other languages

I def. want to go to berlin Munich and Prague. Of the remainig i've listed which are the best overall places. I like art, classical music, culture, friendly local people as well as food, drinking and night life.

Any suggestions? Thank you all so much for your help.

Peace, Josh

You like arts, classical music and friendly people ? Spend more time in Czech and Austria (lots and lots to see and hear !) and less... elsewhere. If I were you (but I'm not!), I'd skip Belgium and Amsterdam, and keep them for my next trip.

So what about, 3 days in Berlin, 3 in Munich, one week in Czech, one week in Austria, a few days skiing in Switzerland, and hop back home ? (Or your whole 20-25 days spent in Germany, Czech and Austria...)

I almost forgot : welcome to travelpunk.com !

Europe in winter is fun in my opinon, so don't let that stop you, and not everything will be closed.

Atchoum is right on. Prague is one of the greatest cities in the world (in my humble opinion). It's got a little of everything you mentioned you liked. Don't worry about languages, you speak english and that is good enough. Czech people aren't as fluent as many other places, but you'll do fine. A lot of people living in Prague aren't Czech anyway, so they all speak english, and the younger generation are all fluent. Welcome and have a blast!
