here's what i want to do... get to a starting point somewhere in europe, and from there, travel indefinetly with nothing more than a backpack and a tent. i'd like to make my way to india and southeast asia as well. aside from the neccesary supplies and initial plane ticket to europe, is it possible to this with no money whatsoever? can you still rely on the goodwill of strangers or work for food and shelter as needed? i'm ok with roughing it. any help is appreciated.

James713, To the the family bro!!!

To answer your question in one simple word...YES...

Check this site...
Free Trav'la

I have seen a couple more guys like this, once even on 20/20...so it can be done, and if ya do it and pull it off...FULL PROPS to ya!!!

And to answer your next question about the ike..Its a great way to travel my friend, taking it should not cost you anything...just bring a lock ( A Real Good One), and a bike repair kit including a couple spare tires, you do not wanna be stranded.
