Hey!

my friend and i are traveling to europe from the US in may. we plan on buying eurorail passes but are also open to flying from place to place while we are in europe. we arent really sure where to start but we are open to seeing greece, italy, Uk, netherlands, france and if we have time (we are there for 10-20 days)spain. looking at these countries, which would be a good place to start? england worries me b/c of the eurorail thing. anyone have any suggestions? do we need to fly in and out of the same place? PLEASE HELP!

thanks!

Ok, for starters, the Eurail does not cover the UK (and not to mention that the UK is crazy expensive cause of the pound.)

With 20 days and your itenary, I would look at useing the Eurail and a low-cost flight like ryanair.com or easyjet.com

If anything use the flights to go to and from Greece. Book as far in advance as you can to get the best prices. I have never flown Ryanair, but I have flown Easyjet many times, and I can say it is just like flying Delta or any other airline for the most part. So it's not like you are sitting on a chicken coop in the back or anything like that.. And you can't beat the prices..

Have fun!

Look into cheap flights to London (we found a return ticket Vancouver-London for $848 CDN) then see about using Ryanair to fly to Paris. My friend and I are doing that this summer and we found a flight to paris that was 0.99 euros (we're flying from Dublin, but we also found a flight to Dublin from London for 0.99 euros) with taxes and fees we're only paying like 50euros in total for the both of us to fly one way... Thats what I would recommend, just try and be flexible about dates...

Another option is flying to Amsterdam which can also be cheap....

Good luck!
