Wild Bill is the owner of the local camping and backpacking store Wild Bill's Sporting Goods. i told him about my little adventure, and he highly suggested for me to get a backpack with 6000+ cubic inches of space, as well as a new bag. the whole situation is, the website www.onebag.com tells you how to fit everything into one single carry-on size bag. however, that website doesnt take into account that i will be doing a good amount of camping.

it was also suggested that i buy a portable stove, a smaller one, to cook food on. that would take a LOT of space and room, though. is it worth bringing, or should i just cook on open-flame?

the bag he suggested is a Wiggly- i already have a slumberjack, and it is a little bulky- the wiggly bag is good to 25 degrees F and rolls to the size of a loaf of bread. i might get it.

anyway...is that size bag way too huge? how many inches should i look for if i will be bringing basic camping gear too?

6000+ cubic inches of space is big, my pack has 5200 ci and that has always been plenty for me. I have a glacier by Dana Designs and won't trade it for the world!

As far as a stove goes, you can get a tiny one! Check out MSR, Snow Peak, and many other companies.

I'd would go for a bag like you mentioned. I use a brand called Vango which is European, but there are mnay good ones out there.
