Hey what's up?

I'm just wondering, what are some of the most amazing and exotic places you've been to? A place that just totally wowed you! love to hear about it

The most exotic place I have been to has got to be Morrocco..I had an out of body experience, which wasn't due to alcohol. I truly felt like I was in a mystical far off land and it was great fun riding on a camel.

A quick top five (with pics):

Petra, in Jordan. You've seen it...in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, it's where the holy grail is kept.

Angkor Wat, in Cambodia. You MAY have seen it in the cheesy, first "Tomb Raider" movie...

Pagan, Myanmar (Burma)

The Quirang, Isle of Skye, Scotland

And of course, my favorite city in the world, Venice

WOW, all of those are so awesome.

I hope i get to see atleast some of those on my trip. those pics were amazing. for the record i like angelina jolie. lol. greatest actress ever.

Obviously i cant see them all, but good possibilities on scotland, hiking in northern Portugal, and Morocco if there's time and money for it.

I want to find a place like in the movie the beach.lol. wouldn't that be awesome. an islsnd that only backpackers know of and can use. It would be fun

Scotland is still one of my greatest trips ever. I loved the Western Isles (Hebrides) like Mull and Skye. I highly recommend them.

This is a thread to make one dream !

The most exotic place I've been to is the 4000 Islands in Laos. You live in small bamboo bungalows in the middle of the Mekong (for one buck per day !). No electricity. Water and tiny islands (the name 4000 Islands comes from the small grass spots that are discovered during the dry season) all around.

The most amazing night : a wedding party in a remote part of Romania, drinking cherry liquor, trying to dance on traditional music, and using my newly bought romanian dictionnary.

The most unexpected experience... In Kathmandu, spending afternoons watching local friends smoking brown sugar (mixture of opium and coke, I think). I thought Nepal was the land of spirituality... And no, I didn't try, dope is not my thing.

Bonjour my dear!

Just get one of those free websites, like Geocities on yahoo, or heck, type in a search for free websites and you'll probably get pages of them.

You upload your photos to them, then "hotlink" the post in Travelpunk by clicking on the IMG button. Simply type in the url where the photo is stored. If you need help with any of this, I'm sure plenty of us can help!

I'd love to see your pics of Nepal and Laos!!!

I think Angkor Wat and Machu Picchu in Peru must be some of the most stunning...

(Have been to neither yet, though.)

Oh...thanks, voyd!!! Rub it in...Macchu Picchu, for those who don't know, is my thrice-cancelled destination. Three times me and friends were supposed to head there and everytime something came up for them. And they begged and pleaded for me not to go without them.

So, here I sit. Still not having been to Macchu Picchu...

I plan on going to Machu Picchu next year on a leg of my month in SA, but what sucks is you cant do the individual hike on the Inca Trail anymore. You have to get a guide which is from 200-300USD. They do have other trails around there which I plan on going, and dont worry Ill take enough pictures for you guys.

I will not die without hiking to Macchu Picchu

I agree Morocco is exotic but my number one exotic place is an island off the coast of Malaysia called Pulau Pangkor.
