Exclamation i can't spell my name... southwest flight help!

so i'm not from the usa and i booked a flight from nashville, tn to austin, tx via the southwest website.

now, i thought i knew how to spell my name (stephanie) but as i was trying not to misspell my friend's name (she has a german last name..) i didn't think to check the spelling of my own...

i had not noticed this until maybe the 5th time i looked... i spelt it without the i... so the passenger is stephane but the booking is under stephanie... with the credit card belonging to stephanie...

do you think it would be noticeable? i mean, if i were checking i.d's i wouldn't be reading to make sure every letter of the name was in there - i'd be looking out for anything that was noticeably wrong... like "stefanie" for example.

i tried to change it but it means i have to reselect the flight and the flight i booked is not an option when i change...

how tight are the rules for domestic flights in the usa and do you think i can get away with having stephane on the ticket instead of stephanie? i is such a skinny letter... if i don't point it out, no one picks it up unless i tell them something is wrong...

opinions please!

I'd personally call the airline to explain. Did it ask you to enter your passport number or anything? cause the ticket may be held under the name associated with the passport and not what was put in the "name" field.

But definitely give the airline a call and ask them for advice. Just to be sure.

I think the airline will probably change it. If they give you grief about it it probably wont matter...Technically you don't actually need ID in the US, they will just search you more thoroughly.

I doubt they would notice that kind of difference anyway. And, if you need any help/advice about Austin or want to grab a beer or something let me know!

First names are not as important for when traveling. They know lots of folks go by nicknames...Mike for Michael, etc., so are pretty understanding. If you have any trouble, send me a PM. I have friends that work for Southwest that can probably go into your record and make a notation...I can do that if it makes you more comfortable, too...
