Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself, since I'll be bugging you with questions and advice and such from now on... for the rest of your lives muhahahahahahha. You all seem to rock, I've read through sooooo many posts on here.
I'm 26, I plan on heading out(from OrlandoFLUSA) next fall, after my wife finishes her nursing school.. she has basically said, go, you are free, do what you need to do, and we've made an agreement that we are committed to each other forever, and long term, but meanwhile we are free and living in the moment... woot!
anyway....... I hope to hostel alone alllll around europe (most of the schengen countries), and my time is only limited really by my passport or visa limit If I can live cheaply enough(hmm camping? ), I have an income which will keep coming over the internet (hopefully) to my credit card, and make it a self sustaining visit.
anyway enough rammmmbling I will have lotsa questions, hopefully some of you seasoned travelers can help me!
seems like an awesome community on here... u guys rule
-Andrew

Yeah, you're a child at heart, just as soon as children start going to work every day to rot in a cubicle for a meager pay check so they can drink their troubles away in a shitty bar for the rest of their lives. Unless you're an astronaut, secret agent, vampire hunter, or all three, you're probably a sellout; screw you. Nobody wanted to be a regional director of sales or an investment banker when they were kids. On top of that, nobody thinks you're cute or funny by stating you're a "child at heart" on your stupid online profile that you created because you're a boring middle-aged loser with sagging tits and yellow nails who survives off greasy TV dinners every night as you contemplate the exact moment your life became such a miserable shit hole. -Maddox

thanks for all the welcomes!
pinion: ya she's the best =)
crazy: she's going to be focusing on her career, her nursing thang, and no, probably she wouldn't like travelling, especially not in the way I plan to do it, very poor living, for that longterm thang. She gets kinda socially anxious. Plus we kinda agreed to be free. Totally for a bit. Maybe she's thinking that whole 'let em go and if he comes back it's meant to be' thing, since we got married pretty early on, and kids and the whole deal. It was like goin from 21 to 40 overnight. =( She won't admit to that theory but...
rat- you crack me up with those exit statements and all that "forget I exist " talk. lol, reminds me of one of my best friends who always says shit to me like, "aahhhhhhh ya bastard, why do you hate me and want me dead?" And sure my name is a literary reference, its from old kung-fu movies (or wutang clan!). The 35 chambers were rooms where secret techniques were taught and one built up one's strength. (to take on all those 100 ninjas, one at a time =))
omi: nice travelogue for london, your such a comodian.
Hey I was just reading that post with the Help Exchange and Hospitality Club links.. to facilitate working or staying abroad. Anyone done that and have stories, tips? I'm thinking my point of entry will be spain (since I speak OK spanish and want to go fluent), and maybe stay there and try the Help Exchange for a bit to get oriented and culturfied <---- (new word invented) and such.

That's cool dude! Good that you guys have figured out your own thing that works for you both. No an easy task (boy do I know) by any means. Its always a good thing when two people can come together but still do there own thing and be supported by the other and make a life together that compatible.
Its hard to find another person that you want to spend your life with and you both more or less want simular things and are heading in the same basic direction....hard, very hard, but not impossible.
Props man!

First Welcome to the Family!!
You have a very cool wife there make sure you come back
Yes Europe can be done very cheap. lost me on your passport being a limit? most countries you can stay in without a visa for 3 months so that should not be a problem stay in one for three mo. and go to the next
have a great time and keep in touch with TP b/c you can be tons of help to others who want to travel cheap!!
take care T

thanks tecia, I will always come back to her =)
Ya, I finally realized that the time limit thing is a non-issue... I think I was confused by reading into the Schengen visa... unneeded as I can just do like you say. Woohoo no time limit! =) I will definitely post as I go, and try to give back as much as I can.
Checked out the globalfreeloader.com and couchsurfing.com links left by U2fan (i think it was). Those look awesome! thanks u2fan
Anyone travel with any or all of these?
Laptop
Small tent
ultralight sleeping bag
and I was even thinking about a foldingbike (bikefriday) but that's 8lbs I'll probably do without. But it would be cool to have wheels anywhere you go, dontcha think?
RegentRat , you are always talking about hitching and jumping trains, and sleeping outdoors, do you do that kinda thing all over the world. U bring a tent with you?
hah never noticed this guy before
bye
