New TSA rules?
So after the Amsterdam-->Detroit flight with the terrorist loon, looks like TSA might be getting rid of the use of electronics on international flights... no official word yet from TSA but here's an article I happened to stumble across.
The New, Terrifying, No-Electronics US Flight Security Rules - Flying - Gizmodo
Terrorists ruin everything!

Classic TSA.
Look! We're doing something (completely ineffective)! You are now protected from guys who light their pants on fire, because we have banned your noise canceling headphones!
We need a :violenteyeroll: emoticon...

What annoys me is they want to harass everyone but in a way these airlines brought this upon themselves. I flew Cbus-->Houston-->San Diego and back a few weeks ago... because of the price of checking bags, pretty much EVERYONE carries on now. The lines at TSA checkpoints are longer and it's this whole trickle down effect. Eliminate the cost of checked baggage and I guarantee you will see less paranoia and bullshit.
I've also been in the receiving end of the Gestapo... I mean, TSA... harassment as a parent. I flew Cbus-->ATL-->Austin with my 1 month old son and I formula feed... I had premade bottles in the little cooler thing I had, all TSA approved... except they opened EVERY FUCKING BOTTLE and tested all of it. They took so long I didn't have enough time to feed my son prior to getting on board the flight and it was a miserable first half hour of the flight trying to get settled. And don't get me started on repacking that diaper bag MYSELF after the TSA plowed through it,and one-handed at that because I had a child in the other.
TSA makes me absolutely furious. What happened to our rights?

Interesting stats...Odds of Airborn Terror
FiveThirtyEight: Politics Done Right: The Odds of Airborne Terror
He took the terrorist acts on airlines over the last decade (4 on 9/11, the shoe bomber, and this clown), then figured out how many flights there were and did some simple math:
one terrorist incident per 16,553,385 departures
one terrorist incident per 11,569,297,667 mles flown
one terrorist incident per 27,221,877 hours airborne
the odds of being on given departure which is the subject of a terrorist incident have been 1 in 10,408,947

Love that link Brett. I feel like it should be required reading for the TSA.
